Benedict Cumberbatch is already playing "Doctor Strange," and now his "Sherlock" costar Martin Freeman just landed a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

reports that Freeman will join the cast of "Captain America: Civil War." The first Marvel film to be released in 2016, it will focus on a schism in the Avengers that pits Iron Man against Captain America.

"We couldn't be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
