The Ministry of Railways says that it will draw lessons from the deadly bullet train crash in east China and take concrete measures to improve safety management.

The crash revealed that safety control in some railway enterprises remains weak. The ministry said on Friday that railway personnel must improve their on-site control and emergency response abilities.

The ministry said it has launched a two-month safety overhaul of the railway system immediately after the crash. The ministry also said special efforts will be made to ensure safety of the signaling system, and improve the emergency response system.
