An unusual film from Thailand with an unusual name has won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in France.

The jury awarded the Golden Palm to the film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives.? It is a surreal story of a dying man who sees ghosts, monkeys, bugs and catfish.

Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul thanked those he called the "spirits and ghosts" in Thailand who he says made it possible for him to be in France.

The Grand Prix for runner-up went to Of Gods and Men from director Xavier Beauvois of France.? That film is based on the true story of seven French monks beheaded during Algeria's civil war in 1996.

The Jury Prize for the third best film in the competition went to A Screaming Man, directed by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun of Chad.? South Korea's Lee Chang-Dong won the Best Screenplay award for his film Poetry.

Other winners include France's Mathieu Amalric for best director, and Javier Bardem and Elio Germano, who shared the Best Actor prize.

Juliette Binoche won the Best Actress award for her role in Certified Copy, by Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami.

　　最佳影片金棕櫚獎(jiǎng)則歸屬泰國(guó)導(dǎo)演阿彼察邦-韋拉斯哈古執(zhí)導(dǎo)的《記憶前世的人》，該片講述了布米叔叔因?yàn)槟I衰竭即將離開(kāi)人世，他回到老家度過(guò)自己生命中的最后時(shí)光的故事。亡妻的靈魂和他失散多年、變成了猩猩的兒子都回到了他的身邊。為了能找到自己得病的原因，布米叔叔在家人的陪伴下穿越了樹(shù)林，來(lái)到了深山里的洞里，并死在那里。導(dǎo)演阿彼察邦-韋拉斯哈古2002年拍攝的《你的幸?！帆@得了當(dāng)年的戛納電影節(jié)一種關(guān)注單元大獎(jiǎng)，2004年的《熱帶疾病》則獲得了戛納電影節(jié)評(píng)審團(tuán)獎(jiǎng)，他的上一部電影《綜合癥與一百年》入圍第63屆威尼斯電影節(jié)。法國(guó)影片《人與神》獲得僅次于最佳影片獎(jiǎng)的評(píng)委會(huì)大獎(jiǎng)。

　　最佳男演員獎(jiǎng)由《美錯(cuò)》男主角哈維爾 -巴登和《我們的生活》男主角艾力奧-吉馬諾并列獲得，影后則歸屬《合法副本》的女主角朱麗葉-比諾什，這一獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)也使得比諾什成為有史以來(lái)第一位包攬柏林、戛納、威尼斯影后的女演員。

　　最佳導(dǎo)演獎(jiǎng)被《巡演》導(dǎo)演馬修-阿馬立克收入囊中，最佳編劇獎(jiǎng)由李滄東執(zhí)導(dǎo)的《詩(shī)》獲得，這也是《密陽(yáng)》在第60屆戛納電影節(jié)獲得最佳女演員獎(jiǎng)之后，李滄東的電影再度獲獎(jiǎng)。評(píng)審團(tuán)獎(jiǎng)則歸屬《尖叫的男人》。

　　最佳處女作金攝影機(jī)獎(jiǎng)由墨西哥電影《閏年》獲得，短片金棕櫚獎(jiǎng)獲得者是法國(guó)出品的《母狗的故事》，洪尚秀的《夏夏夏》獲得一種關(guān)注單元大獎(jiǎng)。
