A six-day event of the Life and Sunshine Pavilion will start tomorrow, Cao Ziping, curator of the pavilion, announced yesterday.

The pavilion is the first pavilion especially designed for disadvantaged people during the 159-year history of Expo, with the theme “Elimination of Discrimination, Poverty Alleviation, Passion for Life and a Fair Society.”

Disabled people will guide visitors to tour the pavilion. Japanese guide dogs, mobility dogs and hearing dogs will join in the activities as well.

Visitors will experience a completely dark zone and perceive the environment by smell, hearing and touch with the help of goggles and blind sticks. They can even experience a football match for blind people with special equipment.

The pavilion calls for more understanding and attention for disadvantaged people, so as to ensure them a better life in the future, said Wang Naikun, vice president of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation at yesterday’s press conference.

王乃坤表示，本屆世博會(huì)設(shè)立以殘疾人為主題的生命陽(yáng)光館，不僅為殘疾人提供了一個(gè)展示的平臺(tái)，同時(shí)也通過(guò)展示呼吁全社會(huì)增進(jìn)對(duì)殘疾人的尊重和理解，關(guān)愛(ài)和珍惜生命，鼓勵(lì)殘疾人自尊自信自強(qiáng)，相信通過(guò)科技的力量可以幫助殘疾人擁有更美好的生活。

生命陽(yáng)光館是世博會(huì)159年歷史上首次設(shè)立的殘疾人館，以“消除歧視，擺脫貧窮，關(guān)愛(ài)生命，共享陽(yáng)光”為主題，詮釋“讓關(guān)愛(ài)的陽(yáng)光照亮每一個(gè)殘疾人的心靈”和“城市讓殘疾人生活更美好”的理念。展館位于上海世博會(huì)主題館中，面積1200平方米，分為序廳、陽(yáng)光天地、生命舞臺(tái)、體驗(yàn)空間、智能居家和愛(ài)心走廊六個(gè)單元。館外有超大LED屏，播放全景動(dòng)畫(huà)《走到一起來(lái)》；館內(nèi)上方掛滿鮮花，構(gòu)成美麗的空中花園。

生命陽(yáng)光館由殘疾人參與講解、引導(dǎo)、演示。展館內(nèi)設(shè)置多個(gè)特殊場(chǎng)景和趣味性展項(xiàng)，使游客可親身體驗(yàn)殘疾人的生存環(huán)境。參觀者可以在“天籟光韻”中通過(guò)撥動(dòng)光束產(chǎn)生的美妙音韻感受神奇的回音效果，從而體會(huì)聽(tīng)覺(jué)的重要；在“天視奇觀”體驗(yàn)區(qū)內(nèi)，參觀者在黑暗中依靠味覺(jué)、聽(tīng)覺(jué)和觸覺(jué)，感知周圍的環(huán)境，并通過(guò)特殊設(shè)備在黑暗環(huán)境中觀看盲人足球賽；在陽(yáng)光區(qū)里，通過(guò)“天聰公寓”、“天樂(lè)公寓”、“天目公寓”、“天行律動(dòng)”等區(qū)域，分別展示聽(tīng)力、智力、視力、肢體殘疾人士所使用的生活輔助工具，參觀者可以通過(guò)互動(dòng)體驗(yàn)感受高科技給殘疾人生活帶來(lái)的便利。

此外，生命陽(yáng)光館館周活動(dòng)將于5月10日正式啟動(dòng)，屆時(shí)，將有日本聽(tīng)導(dǎo)犬、導(dǎo)盲犬、介助犬參與到活動(dòng)中。
