You've heard the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover." Well, that’s usually pretty good advice, but our next story might make you reconsider.
The Book Design Forum at this year's Shenzhen Reading Month has Themed as "Better Design, Better Read", the first Book Design Forum opens on Wednesday with speeches and discussions mainly focused on "Book Aesthetics." What book designers hope is to bridge the gap between authors and readers, thereby interpreting books with a unique concept.

Han Zhanning, book designer, said "A book is a matter of sensation, not only do characters carry information, the design is also a good way of interaction. We are trying to let readers fall in love with a book."

Reading a good book is enjoyment, while reading a book that's designed well can double the pleasure. Design graces a book with visual advantage, it also guides readers emotionally.

Han Zhanning, book designer, said "With the content of a book externally expressed through design, we hope that our readers will be impressed by the spirit of a book even by visual experiences."

The forum also invited some 20 renowned designers ranging from Lv Jingren, Zhaoqing for participation. More than 200 book design compositions created by newly emerged designers were also exhibited.
