Other than audio bugs, he was not sure if there were video surveillance as well. Audio bugs could be planted in more subtle locations, like on the underside of the edge of a surface, as long as they were close to the possible source of the sound, they should work fine. It used to be common practice to put audio bugs inside telephone receivers. Nowadays, however, landlines were not as common since mobile technology was becoming more advanced.
