The son of a multi-billionaire hired out the entire swimming pool of a five-star hotel as a birthday treat for his pet sea lion.

The pet's devoted Chinese owner wanted to make it a birthday to remember and pulled out all the stops to make it special.

And the sea lion was given the run of the premises at the popular Ocean Spring Hotel resort, located in coastal Qingdao City, in East China's Shandong Province.

The man is the son of businessman and philanthropist Wang Jianlin, whose personal fortune is believed to be in excess of $13billion (￡8million).
