艾爾頓·約翰于1947年3月25日出生于英國倫敦市郊，英國著名流行音樂創(chuàng)作歌手，享譽(yù)盛名的頂級音樂藝術(shù)家，自幼學(xué)習(xí)鋼琴課程。被譽(yù)為“英國樂壇常青樹”。1994年為電影《獅子王》創(chuàng)作的歌曲《Can You Feel The Love Tonight》紅遍全球，1997年，紀(jì)念戴安娜王妃創(chuàng)作的歌曲《Candle In The Wind》全球賣出3700萬張，是史上最賣座的單曲。1999年，獲得格萊美傳奇獎(jiǎng)。

艾爾頓從藝三十多年來，經(jīng)常以奇裝異服來裝扮自己的形像。他起初一直對自己的同性戀傾向加以隱瞞，但現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)成為著名的同性戀權(quán)益活動家。他設(shè)立了艾爾頓·約翰艾滋病基金會。去年英國同性戀政治組織“石墻”為成立十周年舉辦音樂會，艾爾頓還欣然上臺表演。
