2.A medical student accused in Boston of killing a masseuse he met on Craigslist has been charged in Rhode Island with assaulting a stripper in the hotel. Philip Markoff has pleaded not guilty in the slaying of the masseuse.

3.President Barack Obama's proposal to close tax loopholes is already getting a tepid reception on Capitol Hill. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus says "further study is needed to assess the impact of this plan on US businesses.”

4.Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhaal made it official. The couple who have a daughter together will marry Saturday. Gyllenhaal's film roles include "The Dark Knight" and "World Trade Center". Sarsgaard has appeared in the films "Jarhead”, "Boys Don't Cry" and "Kinsey".?
