One should prepare for a job interview in a relaxed manner. By that I mean do not pay too much attention to any one single detail at the expense of others. There is no one key to succeeding at an interview; rather a person should rely on the cooperation of a large number of little details. Take things slow and do them correctly.
Consistency and
sincerity will be greatly appreciated by any potential employer. And always say more than yes or no!
應(yīng)該以一種輕松的方式準(zhǔn)備面試。這樣說(shuō)的意思是不要為了任何單一的細(xì)節(jié)而犧牲其它的事情。成功的面試不取決于任何一個(gè)孤立的因素,而是許多細(xì)節(jié)因素綜合作用的結(jié)果。準(zhǔn)備時(shí)要從容,然后面試時(shí)注意不要出錯(cuò)。對(duì)于任何一個(gè)潛在的雇主來(lái)說(shuō),連貫性和誠(chéng)摯都會(huì)大受歡迎。而且要永遠(yuǎn)記著不要僅僅停留在回答是或不是上。
Before the interview, one should prepare some of knowledge about the company one is seeking employment with. What is the main focus of the business? How many people does it employ? What languages are spoken in the offices? The answers to these questions should be well known before setting foot through the door. An employer will show more respect to an individual who cares enough to learn such details.
在面試前,應(yīng)聘者應(yīng)做一些準(zhǔn)備,對(duì)所要應(yīng)聘的公司有一些了解。如公司的主要業(yè)務(wù)是什么,有多少員工?在前去公司進(jìn)行面試的時(shí)候,對(duì)這些問(wèn)題的答案應(yīng)該了然于胸。雇主應(yīng)對(duì)渴望了解公司的應(yīng)聘者表示尊重。
Carefully consider your physical appearance on the day of the interview. Although many companies have adopted a 'casual dress' atmosphere, you can never lose points by dressing carefully and neatly. The basics of cleanliness are
mandatory; showering and brushing your teeth are included in this, and it is recommended that you not smoke before the interview as many people find the
lingering odor offensive. On no accounts should one try to smoke during an interview! Taking care with these matters will insure that a potential employer will not have a bad first impression.
仔細(xì)檢察你在應(yīng)聘當(dāng)天的儀表儀容。雖然許多公司采用一種“休閑服”似的辦公環(huán)境,但是注意儀容和穿著整潔總是沒(méi)有壞處?;镜恼麧嵤潜仨毜模丛韬退⒀酪舶ㄔ谄渲?,而且建議您最好在面試開(kāi)始前不要抽煙,許多人發(fā)現(xiàn)抽煙后那久滯不去的味道令人難以忍受。在面試時(shí)無(wú)論如何不要抽煙!注意這些細(xì)節(jié)會(huì)讓一個(gè)可能的雇員不會(huì)給雇主留下惡劣的印象。
Bring with you to the interview a clean copy of your current resume and any supporting information, such as a list of recommendations, a copy of your university degree or other certificates of education. In addition, if one is seeking employment in a country other than one's own, be sure to bring all immigration papers which relate to employment in your host country.
去面試的時(shí)候帶一份你最新的整潔清晰的簡(jiǎn)歷和任何其它所需的文件,如一些推薦信,一份大學(xué)學(xué)位證書(shū)或任何其它教育證書(shū)。另外,如果你是在本國(guó)以外的其它國(guó)家求職的話,別忘了帶上有關(guān)你在原住國(guó)的職業(yè)經(jīng)歷的移民文件。
Be sure to arrive to your interview on time or even fifteen minutes early. Nothing irritates your potential employer more than to be made to wait! Plan to arrive early, so that unusual conditions, such as a traffic jams will not cause you to miss the appointed time. If extremely unusual conditions present themselves, causing your lateness, try to telephone the employer before you are late, so they will not waste time wondering where you are. Under such circumstances an employer may be willing to reschedule the interview.
切記一定要準(zhǔn)時(shí)到達(dá)應(yīng)聘的公司參加面試,甚至提前15分鐘到達(dá)。你潛在的雇主最討厭等待!提早做計(jì)劃,以便在某些特殊的情況下,比如交通堵塞就會(huì)害你錯(cuò)過(guò)約定的時(shí)間。如果有極其特殊的情況發(fā)生使得你無(wú)法準(zhǔn)時(shí)到達(dá),在你感到要遲到的之前給公司打電話,以便他們不會(huì)浪費(fèi)時(shí)間猜測(cè)你怎么了。在這種情況下,雇主也許愿意重新安排面試的時(shí)間。
While waiting for your turn, it is best to make friends with the secretaries or other staff around the office. This is also a good opportunity to practice saying more than yes and no. When your name is called, look up proudly, knowing that you are the one for the job. GOOD LUCK!
在等待輪到你面試的時(shí)候,最好與秘書(shū)或辦公室的其他職員交朋友。這也是一個(gè)練習(xí)說(shuō)更多不限于是或不是回答的機(jī)會(huì)。當(dāng)叫到你的名字的時(shí)候,自豪地站起來(lái),心中明白你是這個(gè)職位的最佳人選。
