1. Set a huge ambition that will require you to discipline yourself and accomplish smaller goals first. For example,? have weeks or months of training before trying to run a marathon
2. Read a book from a field that you normally never set foot in. If autobiographies are normally your favorite, try a Fiction. Chose whatever is outside the norm.
3. Pick up a new hobby that you currently have very little ability to do. Such as playing musical instruments, cooking, painting, writing or dancing.
4. It’s not always easy to express our feelings to the people we love the most. Make time for the people you care, and speak out your care for them, despite it's much easier to think “I love you” than to say it.
5. Go to a restaurant that you’ve never actually been to and order something unique. Don't choose what you’ve had? for several times –? try something you struggle to pronounce.
6. If you’ve grown comfortable doing things solo, start doing those activities with a friend. If you only do things with friends, try to do it alone. Trust me, seeing a movie by yourself is surprisingly pleasant.
7. Make a new friend. No – that doesn’t mean add a random person on renren! At work, in class or when you’re out, start a conversation IN PERSON, and make friends with someone.
8. Switch up your daily routine drastically. If you’re a night owl, try hitting the hay early and waking up at sunrise. If you’re an early bird, explore the late hours of the night for a change.
9. Limit your television-watching time. Replace that newfound time to be active and live your life, as opposed to watching others.
10. Choose one of your fears and confront it head-on. Don’t like heights? Try skydiving, hiking a mountain or going on a rooftop – whatever you can do, as long as the idea of it makes you uneasy.
11. Enter a competition in which the conditions are not all favorable to you. Failure isn’t always a bad thing, especially when it’s used properly. By losing and feeling a letdown, you would be thirsty to try again .
12. Say “yes” to every single opportunity that presents to you, big or small. From an invite to an event you typically wouldn’t attend, to a job promotion in a different city. Some things are life-changing, and should be embraced with open arms instead of being declined without consideration.
Summary: how to jump out of your comfort zone?
1. Face your fears.
2. Challenge yourself.
3. Make a new acquaintance.
4. Educate yourself.
5. Try something new.
6. Be proactive.
Warning:
Don't confuse stepping out of your comfort zone with being reckless and stupid. There's a difference between being reckless and accepting risks. Reckless people don't accept risks-they don't even think about them. You should know the risks, and decide to go through with the decision anyway, ready and willing to accept the consequences if things don't work out.??
