Nine films will advance to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 85th Academy Awards, in what might be the least controversial foreign film shortlist ever.

Among the chosen nine were the expected likes of France's "The Intouchables," Austria's "Amour" and Denmark's "A Royal Affair." Seventy-one films had originally qualified in the category.

The most glaring omissions were probably Germany's "Barbara," Australia's "Lore" and Belgium's "Our Children," each of which were considered good possibilities for the list. Though there was no snub on the level of, say, "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days." And the director of that film -- Cristian Mungiu -- finally did make the shortlist thanks to the somewhat unexpected inclusion of Romania's "Beyond The Hills."

All nine countries save Canada and Chile were notably from Europe, with no Asian or African representation. Nordic countries did especially well, with Norway, Denmark and Iceland (for Baltasar Kormakur's "The Deep," another surprise) all on the list.

The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

【娛樂快訊】在洛杉磯當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間12月21日早，主辦奧斯卡的美國電影科學(xué)與藝術(shù)學(xué)院公布了入圍2013年第85屆奧斯卡最佳外語片短名單的九部電影，奧地利的《愛》(Amour)、法國的《觸不可及》(The Intouchables)、丹麥的《皇室風(fēng)流史》（A Royal Affair）三部獲得金球獎提名的影片均入圍短名單，華語片再度無緣角逐。

本屆奧斯卡的短名單以歐洲電影為主，9部影片中有7部來自歐洲，另外2部來自美洲地區(qū)。來自中國大陸、香港和臺灣的三部華語片《搜索》《奪命金》《逆光飛翔》全部落選，華語片上一次入圍還是2003年張藝謀《英雄》。

第85屆奧斯卡提名名單將于美國當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間1月10日公布，第85屆奧斯卡頒獎典禮將于2013年2月24日晚舉行。
