Anderson, 45, says he ‘couldn’t be any more … proud’ of his sexuality. And we’re proud of him for finally speaking out!

Anderson Cooper‘s sexuality has been a hot topic of conversation for years, and now in an interview with The Daily Beast, the famous newsman is setting the record straight — so to speak. “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud,” Anderson says in a statement.

Anderson has never wanted to make a big issue out of his sexuality, which is why it’s so appropriate that his first official comments appear in a story about public figures casually coming out. It should also be noted that Anderson’s comments about being gay appear as part of a much larger statement to the site.
