On this Memorial Day, President Barack Obama said Americans who served during the Vietnam era were under-appreciated and often maligned. He says the way they were treated when they returned home was a national shame, a disgrace and he says that should never happen again.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is promising to maintain an American military with no comparable power anywhere in the world. Romney is warning against shrinking American’s military in Europe’s image.

Explosion at a Sartell Minnesota paper mill caused a major fire in the plant along the Mississippi River. Sartell city manager says the explosion happened shortly before noon at the Verso Paper Corporation mill. She says authorities don't know what caused it.

And pop singer Justin Bieber is wanted for questioning by Los Angeles County Sheriff investigators. A photographer complained he was roughed up by Bieber at a shopping center where he walked out of a movie theater with girlfriend Selena Gomez.
