每年的五月到六月，在南非的開(kāi)普角都會(huì)發(fā)生這一奇觀，數(shù)百萬(wàn)的銀色沙丁魚(yú)會(huì)像海中颶風(fēng)一樣向溫暖的北方遷徙，整個(gè)魚(yú)群的規(guī)模要用公里來(lái)計(jì)算。

與這些沙丁魚(yú)同時(shí)出現(xiàn)的，還有各種捕食他們的動(dòng)物，水中的和天上的都有，場(chǎng)面非常壯觀。

Between May and July every year millions of small silver fish travel in vast shoals from the cold waters off South Africa’s Cape Point up to the coastlines of the northern Eastern Cape and southern KwaZulu-Natal. This annual event is called the Sardine Run. The shoals are so big – 15km long, 3.5km wide and up to 40m deep – they can be seen by satellite. In their wake come hundreds of birds, sharks, whales, dolphins, all eager to hunt these fish.
每年5月至7月，數(shù)百萬(wàn)小銀魚(yú)成群結(jié)隊(duì)地從南非開(kāi)普角附近的寒冷水域游至東開(kāi)普省北部和納塔爾夸祖盧南部沿海地帶。這一年度活動(dòng)被稱(chēng)為沙丁魚(yú)賽跑。這些魚(yú)群非常大，長(zhǎng)15公里，寬3.5公里，深達(dá)40米，而且通過(guò)衛(wèi)星可以觀察到。而之后數(shù)以百計(jì)的鳥(niǎo)類(lèi)、鯊魚(yú)、鯨魚(yú)、海豚都急切地想要捉到這些魚(yú)。
