Last month eager film fans were given their first look at the Wreck-It Ralph sequel , which will feature all of the Disney Princesses together for the very first time.

Everyone from Cinderella to Moana are set to appear in the movie and people were overjoyed - especially when a clip was released showing the princesses in loungewear.

However on closer inspection, there was one thing about the scene that really bothered people.

And that was the colour of Princess Tiana's skin.

Tiana, the star of the 2009 film The Princess and the Frog, was Disney's first black princess and is celebrated for bringing diversity to the Disney world.

So people were unimpressed when it appeared the character's skin had been "lightened" in the new movie.

Disney was quickly accused of "reinforcing colourism" and giving Tiana "Eurocentric features" by slimming down her nose and altering her hair.

However following this backlash, the company have now promised to undo the lightening of her skin and have redrawn her in the film.

This news was revealed in a post by advocacy group Color of Change.

They wrote: "The creation of Princess Tiana, Disney's first Black princess marked a defining moment for how Black women and girls are presented in media, specifically in animated movies. We're glad Disney Animation has committed to restoring Tiana to her original form to ensure authenticity."

People were thrilled with the news, but still a little frustrated that the incident occurred in the first place.

One user said: "It's really unfortunate that this was an issue in the first place... though I am grateful that they listened."

Another commented: "Much better."

A third added: "AYYYY see complaining does pay off sometimes."
