Mr Turnbull remained confident the resettlement deal of the refugees would continue.
"When you hear about the tough phone calls I'm having, don't worry about it. Just don't worry about it. They're tough. We have to be tough. It's time we're going to be a little tough, folks," he said. "We're taken advantage of by every nation in the world, virtually. It's not going to happen anymore. It's not going to happen anymore."

我們來盤點一下。
1 墨西哥建墻
1月25日，特朗普一連簽署兩份行政命令，其中之一就是著名的“墨西哥建墻”令。
Donald Trump has signed an executive order calling for a "large physical barrier" between the US and Mexico - the order will jump-start the process of building the wall, which was one of the President's primary campaign promises.
特朗普已經簽署一項行政命令，要求在美國和墨西哥之間修建一座“巨型實體屏障”。該命令將快速啟動造墻工程，這是他的主要競選承諾之一。
特朗普告訴國土安全部（Department of Homeland Security）的工作人員：
A nation without borders is not a nation. Beginning today, the United States gets back control of its borders - gets back its borders.
沒有邊境的國家不算是一個國家。從今天開始，美國將重新掌控自己的邊境，奪回自己的邊境。
為解決與墨西哥之間的邊境“危機”，特朗普下令國土安全部增雇5000名巡察官（patrol officers），移民執(zhí)法人員（immigration enforcement agents）數量翻三倍。
至于建墻的這筆錢從何而來，特朗普并沒有給出詳細的計劃，不過他表示：
All it is, is we'll be reimbursed at a later date from whatever transaction we make from Mexico.
反正我們將來一定會以某種形式從墨西哥那里得到補償。
墨西哥總統(tǒng)培尼亞·涅托（Enrique Pena Nieto）則回應稱，我們才不！
“Mexico does not believe in walls. I've said it time and time again: Mexico will not pay for any wall.”
“墨西哥不相信建墻（的作用）。我說過多少回了：墨西哥不會為這道墻付錢的。”
墨西哥華瑞茲市近日還舉行“要擁抱，不要圍墻”（Hug Not Walls）的活動，讓分隔美墨兩國的親屬在邊境線附近短暫團聚。
錢到底從哪來？26日，白宮又提出了一個方案：對墨西哥進口商品征收20%的關稅。
白宮發(fā)言人斯派塞（Sean Spicer）稱，
We have a new tax at $50 billion at 20 percent of imports. By doing it that way we can do $10 billion a year and easily pay for the wall.
美國每年從墨西哥進口額為500億美元，征收20%的稅，每年可得100億美元，建墻費用就解決了。
2 取消向非法移民庇護城市撥款
跟“墨西哥建墻”令同時簽署的，是取消給非法移民庇護城市（sanctuary cities）撥款的命令。
The other executive order signed by the president defunds sanctuary cities like Los Angeles, New York and Chicago that harbor illegal immigrants.
特朗普簽署的另外一個行政命令取消了對洛杉磯、紐約、芝加哥等非法移民庇護城市的撥款。
停止撥款，也就是要打擊這些城市保護移民的努力。
美國的聯邦撥款（Federal grants）屬于美國經濟援助，來自政府收入，通常用于各種社會服務，比如社區(qū)中心，診所或者低收入人群住房等。
特朗普政府認為，非法移民既然不合法，就不應該得到這筆援助，美國人民不應當為這種藐視法律的行為強制付費。
3 限移令
28日，特朗普搞出最大動作，簽署了一項爭議極大的“限移令”。
Trump barred citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for at least the next 90 days by executive order.
特朗普在這份命令中規(guī)定，未來至少90天，七個以穆斯林人口為主的國家公民禁止進入美國。
The executive order bars all people hailing from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen -- or at least 218 million people, based on 2015 data published by the World Bank -- from entering the United States. Those countries were named in a 2016 law concerning immigration visas as "countries of concern."
被禁止入美的這七個國家是伊拉克、敘利亞、伊朗、利比亞、索馬里、蘇丹、也門，根據世界銀行2015年的數據，這些國家至少包括2.18億人口。2016年的一部移民簽證相關的法律把這些國家稱為“問題國家”。
而且，這份命令還稱，這七個國家只是開始，未來，這份禁入名單可能還會越來越長……
特朗普不但限移民，還限反“限移令”的官員……
美國代理司法部長耶慈（Sally Yates）30日發(fā)表公開信，直言特朗普“禁令”不合法，特朗普隨即將耶慈撤職：
Donald Trump fired the acting US attorney general Sally Yates after she told justice department lawyers not to defend his executive order banning entry for people from seven Muslim-majority countries.
特朗普日前撤去了美國代司法部長耶慈的職位，后者曾指示司法部律師不要為特朗普針對穆斯林七國的禁令進行辯護。
這一事件被媒體形容為“周一夜大屠殺”（Monday Night Massacre）。
30日，特朗普在社交媒體上發(fā)表聲明，解釋這項“限移令”。
我們來劃下重點：
? 這不是穆斯林禁令。
This is not a Muslim ban.
? 這涉及反恐，是為了保護我們的國家安全。
This is about terror and keeping our country safe.
? 涉恐的七個國家是奧巴馬政府當時提出的。
The seven countries named in the Executive Order are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror.
? 未來也會對那些逃離壓迫的難民施與同情（在能保證我們國民與邊境安全的情況下）。
We will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression ( while protecting our own citizens and border ).
當然，不管特朗普怎么解釋，“限移令”在美國國內外仍然引發(fā)了巨大爭議和大規(guī)?？棺h示威。
科技界的大佬也紛紛批評這一做法。
Facebook CEO馬克·扎克伯格說：
My great grandparents came from Germany, Austria and Poland. Priscilla's parents were refugees from China and Vietnam. The United States is a nation of immigrants, and we should be proud of that.
我曾祖父母分別來自德國奧地利波蘭等地，我的妻子也是來美國逃難的中越混血。美國是個多元化的移民國家，我們應該為此感到自豪。
Apple CEO蒂姆·庫克說：
More than any country in the world, this country is strong because of our immigrant background and our capacity and ability as people to welcome people from all kinds of backgrounds. That's what makes us special. We ought to pause and really think deeply through that.

A federal court has granted an emergency stay blocking the deportation of migrants detained at airports around the United States due to Donald Trump's immigration ban.
