【考后經(jīng)驗(yàn)談】TOEFL與GRE不同處之大盤點(diǎn)
好了充分的準(zhǔn)備。GRE考試分兩種（平常所說(shuō)GRE考試都是指General test）：一般能力或稱傾向性測(cè)驗(yàn)(General test或Aptitude Test)；專業(yè)測(cè)驗(yàn)或稱高級(jí)測(cè)驗(yàn)(Subject Test或Advanced Test)?？忌枰鶕?jù)自身的條件和申請(qǐng)學(xué)校的要求參加其中一項(xiàng)或雙項(xiàng)考試。普通考試的目的在于根據(jù)大學(xué)畢業(yè)生的基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)和能力水平，對(duì)考生在高級(jí)階段從事學(xué)術(shù)研究的一般潛在能力做出衡量，而不涉及任何專業(yè)的特殊要求。專業(yè)考試的目的則在于測(cè)試考生在某一學(xué)科領(lǐng)域或?qū)I(yè)領(lǐng)域中所獲得的知識(shí)和技能以及能力水平的高低。GRE和托福不一樣，它并不是一種語(yǔ)言考試，與托福相比，它的verbal部分更側(cè)重于一個(gè)人的邏輯分析能力和信息提取能力，這將從一定程度上顯示一個(gè)人的學(xué)術(shù)潛能，當(dāng)然因?yàn)檫@個(gè)考試是用英語(yǔ)進(jìn)行的。所以參加者的英語(yǔ)要有一定的基礎(chǔ)才好。同時(shí)也決定了GRE是不可能考察聽力和口語(yǔ)的。其實(shí)GRE這種考試不是英語(yǔ)好就可以搞定的，即便是一個(gè)美國(guó)人，他也不一定在毫無(wú)準(zhǔn)備的情況下在GRE中取得好成績(jī)。這就好比我們都是中文很好的中國(guó)人，但是我們?cè)趨⒓痈呖嫉恼Z(yǔ)文考試不一定會(huì)考的很好一樣。 2.題型設(shè)置不同 TOEFL題型分為聽力、口語(yǔ)、閱讀和寫作部分。將一門語(yǔ)言的聽說(shuō)讀寫四個(gè)部分都有涉及。GRE考試包含verbal(語(yǔ)文)、quantitative(數(shù)學(xué))和analytical writing(分析性寫作)3個(gè)部分。其中分析性寫作是要進(jìn)行網(wǎng)絡(luò)聯(lián)考完成，其中包括issue和argument兩道寫作題，issue是根據(jù)一個(gè)話題來(lái)談自己的看法和認(rèn)識(shí)，argument則根據(jù)已給出的一段文字批駁其不合理處。Verbal部分又分類反、填空、閱讀四種題型。 3.復(fù)習(xí)側(cè)重點(diǎn)不同 聽力水平無(wú)疑是新托福成功與否的關(guān)鍵，除閱讀外，無(wú)論哪一部分都離不開“聽”。對(duì)于中國(guó)考生來(lái)說(shuō)，聽力正是薄弱環(huán)節(jié)。目前中國(guó)考生提高聽力的其中一條有效途徑是“聽寫法”，即把相關(guān)聽力材料拿來(lái)精聽，并把聽到的內(nèi)容逐句寫下來(lái)。也有專門用來(lái)練習(xí)新托福聽寫的軟件，如新托福聽寫王軟件。而對(duì)于GRE來(lái)說(shuō)，有TOEFL所謂“得單詞者得天下”的說(shuō)法，可見詞匯量對(duì)于備考GRE來(lái)說(shuō)是多么重要，因此，針對(duì)不同的考試，大家在復(fù)習(xí)策略上也應(yīng)區(qū)別對(duì)待。
