So imagine the fun of making your own Oscar dresses at home. One mother recently became an internet star after photographing her five-year-old daughter in copies of red carpet dresses, made with crepe paper and glitter glue.

They decided to try the same trick with last weekend’s Oscar frocks.

Clare Goldwin set out to transform her five-year-old daughter, Ella, into a miniature version of some of the world’s most famous actresses by creating five of this year’s most memorable dresses — using little more than crepe paper, card, sticky tape...?and a lot of patience.

Ella’s verdict: ‘I like how shiny this is, but I don’t like the colour so much and it’s a bit difficult to move in.’

Clare’s verdict: The wrapping paper really does look a bit like satin!

What We Needed: Two A1 pieces of card, tinfoil, Ferrero Rocher chocolate wrappers, gold glitter glue, tape and tracing paper.

Ella’s verdict: ‘Absolutely my favourite dress. I loved the shiny decorations, and helping stick them on. I feel like a princess.’

Clare’s verdict: Easier than it looks, and lots for Ella to do.

Ella’s verdict: ‘I like the pink colour, but the shawl gets in the way.’

Clare’s verdict: My least favourite. Very fiddly and it took for ever!

Ella’s verdict: ‘I quite like red, but you can’t really move and it’s a bit plain. I think this is my least favourite.’

Clare’s verdict: One for beginners, though the strapless style looks very grown up on my little one.

Ella’s verdict: ‘I love swishing the skirts of this dress. It’s light and floaty.’

Clare’s verdict: I love this one almost as much at Cate’s dress. Ella looks like a fairy princess, and the blue really suits her. I also notice this is the one she likes moving around in most.
克萊爾評價：我對這件禮服的喜愛不亞于凱特那件。艾拉看起來就像童話中的公主，而且淺藍(lán)色真的很適合她。我也注意到她最喜歡穿著這件四處走動。
