很多人可能都覺(jué)得奇怪，Netherlands?跟“荷蘭”在發(fā)音上一點(diǎn)都不像啊，為什么會(huì)翻譯成這個(gè)？

其實(shí)我們翻譯的不是?Netherlands?這個(gè)詞，而是?Holland?這個(gè)詞，這個(gè)詞在世界上被廣泛誤用。

荷蘭的正式名字是?Netherlands，以前有地方翻譯成“日德蘭”或者“尼德蘭”；而?Holland?則是歷史上荷蘭經(jīng)濟(jì)最強(qiáng)大的地區(qū)，所以名氣大。

Using “Holland” to talk about the Netherlands is wrong. Holland comprises the Dutch provinces of North and South Holland. It used to be the economically strongest region of the country, which is why it’s so known.
用 Holland 這個(gè)詞來(lái)指代荷蘭其實(shí)是錯(cuò)的。Holland 指的是荷蘭的北荷蘭省跟南荷蘭省。這個(gè)地方曾經(jīng)是全國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)最強(qiáng)盛的地區(qū)，所以這個(gè)名字的知名度才這么高。

另外，荷蘭的形容詞是?Dutch，跟另外兩個(gè)詞都不沾邊，也是夠神奇的。
