Insiders say the new US visa application policy for Chinese, which took effectMonday, will benefit the tourism industries of both countries.

The new policy shortens the visa application process to three weeks, and Chinese applicants can renew their visas that have expired for less than four years without further interviews.
新簽證政策將簽證申請周期縮短至三周，并且中國簽證持有人若在簽證失效48個月內重新續(xù)簽，將免除面試要求。

The US embassy has also added 50 visa officers to its China service.
同時，美使館還向中國增派了50名簽證官。

Its visa-processing capacity in China is likely to increase up to 40 percent this year, accordingto Gary Locke, US ambassador to China.
據(jù)美駐華大使駱家輝表示，今年美方處理中方簽證申請的能力將提高40%。

"This is definitely good news for domestic travel agencies running overseas tourism services,"said Wei Bin, director of Vacation Service Department from the travel agency website .

Zhang Jianping, director of the international economic cooperation department from the Academy of Macroeconomic Research under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), said the United States is relying more on new economies such as China and Brazil. "The simplified visa application will help boost the consumption of Chinese tourists in the US,"he said.
對此，國家發(fā)改委宏觀經(jīng)濟研究院國際經(jīng)濟合作室主任張建平認為，中國、巴西等新興經(jīng)濟體已經(jīng)成為美國經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的重要依賴對象，美國此次簡化簽證程序，無疑將吸引大量中國游客到美國消費、購物。
