Maybe get him a money clip with an engraving on it, or a key ring with an engraving on it. Things that he will use every day and he will think of you every time he uses it, is a really nice thing.

Or if you took some great vacation together , and there were some memorable things, try to pinpoint things from your relationship and things that you’ve done together, and then really highlight that in a way for him to remember it, and you , maybe put together a little picture book of a great vacation you took or make a scrapbook of something you did together or of your whole of your relationship, something that really says to him : hey,I appreciate you, we were great together. And really remind him of that.
