grin通常有兩個用意，一是“露齒而笑”，二是“強顏歡笑”。如：
He must have been pleased, he was grinning from ear to ear.
他一定很高興，笑得嘴都合不攏了。

政治家

?？匆娪型煊胮olitician和statesman的，但其實它們不同，用的時候以下幾點是要加以注意的哦。

（1）以前在英國politician有時是“政治家”，有時是“政治陰謀家”。

（2）現(xiàn)在在英國politician和statesman都是“政治家”，但略有不同：politician著重在于才能，statesman著重在權(quán)勢。

（3）在美國politician通常是“政客”，往往有“政治陰謀家”的意味。但在“政界人物”中間用politician往往指“（從事于政治而并非從事于其他事的）政治家”。

（4）在美國statesman是“（有才能，有遠見，為國為民的）政治家”。但有時指任何“政界人物”。

It is bound to rain.

肯定會下雨。

He’s bound to refuse.

他一定會拒絕。

烏煙瘴氣

比喻空氣污濁、秩序混亂或社會黑暗、風氣不正。除了譯文中的heavy pollution外，我們還可根據(jù)各種語境用不同的方式表達出來。如“搞得烏煙瘴氣”就可以有以下的表達方式：create a bad atmosphere; foul things up; make a mess of; create bad feeling。
