My Mom came from a family of 14 children.

Mom never forgot his kindness.

because of the kindness shown to her at Christmastime

Mom made it a point
媽媽總是十分認(rèn)真的

to do special things
想要做一些特別的事情

for the less fortunate.
為那些窮苦的人

Mom was a great baker
媽媽是一個很好的烘焙師

and she did bake cookies,
她做了餅干

but she wanted a variety
但她總想多準(zhǔn)備幾種

to give away.
送給那些窮人

There was a lady in town
城里有一位女士

who made and sold cookies.
以做餅干出售為生計

Mom would place an order
媽媽會在她那里預(yù)定一些餅干

and when the cookies were ready

we would go over

and pick them up.

I well remember

the wonderfu l smell of cookies

when she opened the door.

After we had the cookies

I'd help Mom divide them up on plates

and we would deliver them.

One summer

we went back to Mom's hometown.

An elderly, frail man answered.

Mom introduced herself

and thanked him

for the kindness he had shown her family so many years before.

Then she handed him the flowers and candy
接著她將花和糖果遞給他

as she gave him a hug.
給了她一個擁抱

I'm thankful
我心存感恩

I had a Mom
為我有這樣一位母親

who taught me to give.

I may have been an only child,
或許我是家里唯一的孩子

but I was always giving toys, etc away to children

who had less than I did.

It is more blessed to give than to receive.
