以前都說，年年打假，最終曝光的都是些名不見經(jīng)傳的牌子和廠商，沒有說服力。今年捅出了惠普這個大奸商，總算大快人心了一次。只是，對于那些受害消費者來說，這只是第一步，遠稱不上維權(quán)勝利。

American computer giant Hewlett-Packard has apologized for any inconvenience caused to its consumers due to the quality of its products and services, and pledged to extend the warranty period for certain types of laptops.
美國電腦廠商惠普近日就產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量和服務(wù)問題相消費者致歉，并保證延長一些型號的筆記本的保修期。

上面這個句子里的warranty period就是保修期的意思；under warranty意為“處于保修期內(nèi)”；其派生詞warrant有“正當(dāng)理由、依據(jù)；授權(quán)，批準(zhǔn)；逮捕令”的意思：

1.He had no warrant for his action.
他無權(quán)那么做。

2.The police must obtain a warrant from a judge in order to search a house.
警察必須從法官處取得搜查證才可搜查房子。

3.He had no warrant for his suspicion.
他沒有理由那么懷疑。

warrant作為動詞，可以表示：授權(quán)，批準(zhǔn)；使……合法
例：Nothing can warrant such severe punishment.
這樣嚴(yán)厲的懲罰毫無根據(jù)。
