The personal computer is one of the greatest tools ever invented by man and almost everyone in a company these days will need to be able to use one to do their job properly. Because computers are so important and expensive, most companies have policies about their use.

Most companies are very careful about viruses these days. If you use floppy discs from others, you should always use a virus scanner before you put the disc in your computer.
現(xiàn)在多數(shù)公司對病毒都很小心。如果你用的是別人的軟盤,將軟盤插入電腦前應該用查毒軟件檢查一下。

If the company gives you a password for your computer, you should not write it down on a piece of paper. Try to remember it instead.
如果公司給你電腦密碼,不要把它寫在紙上,試著將密碼記住。

If you can choose you own password, don't choose something that others could guess easily such as your name or birth date. Try to remember to change your password every month.
如可以自己選擇密碼,不要設置別人容易猜到的密碼,例如你的名字或生日。試著記得每月更換一次密碼。

Although MP3's and on-line chat are lots of fun, most companies don't like you use them at work during work time. Not only are you not working efficiently if you are chatting on-line but MP3s can make the Internet really slow for everyone else.
